Nepal Airlines to resume commercial flights in Illam’s Sukilumba airport

Kathmandu, January 9. Nepal Airlines Corporation on Wednesday announced that it will resume its flight services at the Falgunanda Sukilumba airport of Ilam.

In February last year, the airliner carried out a test flight at the newly constructed Sukilumba airport. After the successful test flight, the airliner launched commercial flights. The service was halted shortly after.

Nepal Airlines is currently working on determining the cheapest possible flight fares. Kedar Thapa, the Mayor of Illam municipality told reporters that the state-owned airliner is preparing to operate regular flights from January 15. 

Private airliner “Tara Air” also operated its twin otter flights in the airport. But, it closed its service in a few months.
