Kathmandu, April 18. After nearly three decades, this year marks the first time that students in community and government schools are receiving textbooks at the beginning of the academic year.

The Janak Education Material Centre (JEMC), responsible for providing printed textbooks, has announced that schools in 59 districts have already received the necessary materials.

JEMC have stated that they are preparing to dispatch textbooks to the remaining 18 districts by April 23.

“We have already supplied 10.5 million textbooks for classes six to ten, and all schools will receive books within the next week,” a JEMC representative told reporters.
