3.6 crore CORRUPTION case against Madhukar Prasad Rajbhandari

Kathmandu, June 20. On Monday, a charge sheet was filed at the Special Court against Madhukar Prasad Rajbhandari, the former Director General of the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation.

According to the charge sheet, Madhukar Prasad Rajbhandari has been accused by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) of engaging in financial irregularities to illegally amass property.

CIAA Assistant Spokesperson Devi Prasad Thapaliya confirmed the filing of a corruption case against Rajbhandari, with a demand for a fine of Rs 35.6 million for the embezzlement.

Thapaliya told reporters, “Rajbhandari, who retired from government service on September 16, 2022, now faces charges related to graft and financial misconduct.” 

Furthermore, the CIAA has requested the seizure of properties owned by both Rajbhandari and his wife, Deepa, who are implicated in the case.
