Kaski, June 24. The Madi Rural Municipality in Kaski district unveiled its plans to provide monthly allowances to single men within the municipality as part of their social security program.
According to the municipality’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year, destitute single men aged 60 to 68 years will be eligible for the monthly allowance.
Municipality Chair Debjung Gurung emphasized the development and implementation of a procedure to ensure the social security of poor widowers through the provision of monthly allowances.
He also said that the municipality intends to extend subsidies to farmers involved in bull rearing, specifically targeting milk and egg production through the ‘Village with Farmers’ program.
The program will encompass various agricultural initiatives such as supporting vegetable and fruit production, indigenous crop protection and production, beekeeping, and introducing agricultural ambulances.
The policy further highlights the development of the Sikles-Kori-Manang trekking route as a peace path and collaborative efforts with the federal and provincial governments to construct municipal level playgrounds, organize the President’s Cup sports program, and establish the Madi Pragya Pratishthan.
To address issues of barren land, the rural municipality plans to establish a land bank for leasing purposes, enabling the allocation of land to genuine farmers and concentrating investments in productive sectors.
