Kathmandu, Aug 2 : CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal emphasized the importance of honesty among leaders when it comes to nation-building. He made these remarks while addressing a program organized by All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) Kathmandu District Committee in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

While speaking at the event, leader Nepal, also a former Prime Minister, expressed his dismay over the lack of honesty among top political leaders towards the country. He stated, “The country faces numerous challenges, and the most significant problem is our failure to uphold the required level of honesty. We must place the country and its people at the forefront of our priorities. Any dishonor to our nation will not be acceptable to any Nepalis.”

He further expressed dissatisfaction with how political leaders seem more focused on personal interests rather than being dedicated to the country’s well-being. He urged for unity among the people to protect the political achievements and gains attained through repeated struggles and sacrifices.

Nepal acknowledged that the constitution, promulgated after rigorous efforts, addressed several important agendas and guaranteed rights to many. However, he expressed concern over the challenges in implementing the constitution effectively. He remarked, “The constitution’s writing and promulgation were not lacking, but issues arise in its implementation, which should not be the case.”
