Nepali National Cricket Team Secures Second Consecutive Victory on India Tour
Kathmandu, Apr 2: The Nepali national cricket team continues its winning streak on the India tour, securing its second consecutive victory by defeating the Baroda Cricket Association team with a 27-run margin on Tuesday.
In a thrilling match, Nepal set a target of 157 runs for Baroda to chase. Baroda managed to score 129 runs in their allotted 20 overs, falling short of the target set by Nepal.
Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal posted a competitive total of 156 runs, losing 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Key contributions came from players like Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Sekh, who scored 9 runs each, captain Rohit Paudel with 18 runs, Anil Shah with 25 runs, Gulshan Jha with 13 runs, and Sandeep Zora with 28 runs. Kushal Malla’s unbeaten 40 runs and Dipendra Singh Airi’s 5 runs further strengthened Nepal’s innings.
Baroda’s bowlers tried to contain Nepal’s batting lineup, with Baba Khan claiming 2 wickets and Parikshit Patidar and Mohit Mongia taking one wicket each.
This victory marks Nepal’s second consecutive win after their triumph against the Gujarat Cricket Association team. The team is set to play upcoming matches against Gujarat on April 3 and Baroda on April 5.
