Qatar Triumphs Over Saudi Arabia in ACC Premier Cup Group A Clash
Kathmandu, Apr 16: In a thrilling encounter in the ACC Premier Cup, Qatar emerged victorious over Saudi Arabia by a margin of 15 runs in their Group A match held on Tuesday.
Facing a target of 154 runs set by Qatar, Saudi Arabia managed to score only 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, falling short of the required total and handing Qatar a well-deserved win.
Earlier in the match, Qatar posted a competitive total of 153 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. With this victory, Qatar secured 4 points from 4 matches, propelling them to the second position in Group A standings. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has accumulated 2 points from 3 games.
Following this match, Nepal, leading Group A with 6 points from 3 matches, secured their spot as the group winner even before their final game. Nepal is set to face Saudi Arabia in their last group stage match on Wednesday.
Additionally, having secured a place in the semi-finals, Nepal is slated to play against the runner-up of Group B in the upcoming semi-final match. The remaining semi-finalist from Group A will be determined by the outcomes of the final matches.
