Nepali Congress to Continue Obstructing Parliament Over Cooperative Inquiry Committee Demand
Kathmandu, May 16: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, will continue to obstruct the Parliament, citing the ruling party’s reluctance to form a parliamentary inquiry committee on the cooperative case. Despite Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s proposal to investigate all cooperatives, the Congress rejected it, insisting on a committee specifically to investigate Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane’s involvement.
Congress General Minister Bishwaprakash Sharma confirmed their stance, and Congress whip Sushila Thing stated that no agreement has been reached yet. Consequently, the House sessions will remain suspended until the committee is formed.
Earlier today, a House of Representatives meeting scheduled for 11 am was postponed to 4 pm as negotiations continued.
