Toni Kroos Announces Departure from Real Madrid and Retirement from Football
Kathmandu, May 21: German midfielder Toni Kroos has announced that he will leave Real Madrid and retire from football after the upcoming Euro Cup.
In a message, the 34-year-old Kroos confirmed that Real Madrid will be his last club. Kroos joined Real Madrid from German club Bayer Leverkusen in 2014. After playing ten seasons with the Spanish giants, he will participate in one more La Liga match and the final Champions League match for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is set to play the Champions League final against German club Dortmund on June 2. During his decade-long tenure with Real Madrid, Kroos won four La Liga titles, four Champions League titles, one Copa del Rey, and five FIFA Club World Cup titles.
