Singapore Airlines Offers Compensation to Passengers Injured by Turbulence
Kathmandu, Jun 11: Singapore Airlines has announced compensation for passengers who were injured during severe turbulence on flight SQ 321 last month. The flight, traveling from London to Singapore, encountered significant turbulence resulting in injuries and one fatality.
In a social media post on platform X, Singapore Airlines stated that passengers with minor injuries are being offered $10,000 in compensation. For those with serious injuries, a compensation of $25,000 will be provided, with further discussions planned to address special issues and needs.
The turbulence incident caused the death of 73-year-old British citizen Geoff Kitchen and injured approximately 30 other passengers. Among the injured, 20 people suffered spinal injuries. The flight had 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board at the time of the incident.
