Kathmandu, Jul 15: Former US President Donald Trump has given his first interview since the deadly attack on him.

In this interview, Trump revealed that he completely rewrote the speech he intended to deliver at the Republican National Convention. Instead of criticizing President Biden, he has focused on giving a message of unity.

Trump has arrived in Milwaukee to participate in the Republican National Convention, which is set to begin its four-day event from Tuesday. During this convention, Trump will be officially declared the Republican Party’s presidential nominee.

In an interview with the ‘Washington Examiner’, he mentioned that his speech will be remarkable.

“If it (the attack) had not happened, it would have been the most extraordinary speech ever,” Trump said. “It criticized President Biden’s policies. But honestly, it’s going to be a completely different speech now. This is an opportunity to bring the country together. I got this opportunity.”

He added that the true nature of the incident that occurred on Saturday has now been revealed. Sharing his experience of being shot, Trump said, “The energy I see comes from the people. This is the result of the enthusiasm of the people in the rally at that time.”
