Nepal’s Flag Bearers for the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris

Kathmandu, Jul 23: Table tennis player Santu Shrestha and judo player Manita Shrestha Pradhan will jointly carry Nepal’s flag at the March Pass of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France. The Nepal Olympic Committee announced that Santu and Manita will lead Nepal’s delegation in the opening ceremony, scheduled from July 11th to 27th. Santu secured his spot through regional selection, while Manita qualified through continental selection.

Seven athletes from Nepal will compete in the Paris Olympics. Alongside Santu and Manita, the contingent includes Prince Dahal (badminton), Sushmita Nepal (shooting), Alexander Shah and Duwana Lama (swimming), and Santoshi Shrestha (athletics).

Coaching roles will be filled by Pradeep Khati (shooting), Rajendra Kapali (table tennis), Devu Thapa (judo), Kantikumari Mahato Yadav (athletics), and Nayana Shakya (swimming). Notably, Prince Dahal will compete without a coach, while Navisman Singh will serve as the main team doctor.

Most members of the Nepalese team have already arrived in Paris. Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevanram Shrestha, and General Secretary Nilendra Raj Shrestha will attend the opening ceremony. Due to the marathon event being on the final day of athletics, Santoshi Shrestha is scheduled to depart for Paris on July 15th.
