Nationwide PTI Protests in Pakistan Lead to Clashes, Roadblocks, and Arrests
Kathmandu, Nov 25: Supporters of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan staged nationwide protests in Islamabad on Sunday, led by Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Ahead of the protest, Islamabad Police enforced Section 144, warning of strict action against violators and emphasizing the importance of maintaining public order. Authorities urged citizens to avoid illegal activities.
To prevent PTI workers from entering Islamabad, roads leading to the capital were blocked, and Rangers were deployed at the Faizabad Interchange. Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon announced the closure of all educational institutions on Monday due to the unrest.
Clashes between PTI workers and police erupted on several streets in Islamabad, with reports of stone-pelting by protesters. Police detained 380 PTI workers from Islamabad and Rawalpindi as part of their operations to control the situation.
