Kathmandu, Feb 20: New Zealand claimed a 60-run victory over Pakistan in their opening match of the Champions Trophy.
After losing the toss and being sent to bat, New Zealand posted a formidable target of 321 runs. In response, Pakistan’s entire batting lineup was bowled out for 260 runs in 47.2 overs.
Pakistan’s Babar Azam scored 64 runs, Khushdil Shah contributed 69, and Salman Ali Agha added 42 runs.
New Zealand’s bowling attack was led by William O’Rourke and Mitchell Santner, who each took 3 wickets. Matt Henry picked up 2 wickets, while Michael Braswell and Nathan Smith claimed one wicket apiece.
