Kathmandu, March 25: Police have arrested two individuals accused of hacking into Buddha Air’s ticketing software and illegally selling tickets. The suspects, 45-year-old Bikas Bharti from Rangeli Municipality-7, Kathmandu, and 37-year-old Adhikari from Takeshwor Municipality-4, Gorkha, were apprehended in Battisputli, Kathmandu, on Sunday.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the suspects had gained unauthorized access to Buddha Air’s system from the Gaushala-Battisputli area. They allegedly hacked the software five days ago and had already sold tickets for at least 20 passengers, making financial gains in the process.

Buddha Air filed a complaint after noticing irregularities in ticket sales, prompting police to launch an investigation. Superintendent of Police Kaji Kumar Acharya, the spokesperson for the office, confirmed that the suspects admitted to the cyber breach.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to the District Police Complex, Bhadrakali, for further legal proceedings. Authorities are now investigating the full extent of the breach and any possible involvement of additional parties.
