Kathmandu, April 17: Former US President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at Harvard University, calling it a “joke” and claiming it no longer deserves its status among top global institutions.

In a post on his social platform Truth Social, Trump accused Harvard of hiring “stupid” faculty and promoting “hate and stupidity.” He stated, “Harvard University has run its course,” and argued that it can “no longer be considered a good place to study.”

The criticism follows Harvard’s refusal to implement a list of demands sent by the White House, which reportedly included changes to the university’s administration, admissions, and enrollment processes. The White House claimed the measures were meant to curb anti-Semitism on campus.

After Harvard rejected the demands, citing concerns over government interference, the Trump administration responded by suspending $2 billion in public funding to the university.

The situation has sparked significant debate over academic freedom, federal oversight, and the politicization of higher education institutions in the United States.
