Nepal- India petroleum pipeline is absolutely okay : Nepal Oil Corporation

Kathmandu, January 16. After the news of fuel theft on Motihari-Amlekhgunj petroleum pipeline went viral on Social Media, Nepal Oil Corporation contacted the Motihari Office of the Indian Oil Corporation and confirmed that despite the theft attempt, no major damage was caused in the pipeline. 

The pipeline was jointly inaugurated by Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2019. 

After the success of the Motihari-Amlekhgunj petroleum pipeline project, the government is extending the pipeline from Amlekhgunj to Lothar in Chitwan which will have a storage capacity of 100,000 kilolitres of petroleum. Petrol can be supplied at the rate of 300,000 to 400,000 litres per hour using the pipeline.
