Schools in Simikot to reopen from Jan 28

Simikot, January 19. The Simikot Rural Municipality on Sunday has decided to reopen the schools which were closed due to the corona epidemic. 

Ujir Rokaya, acting chief administrative officer of the municipality said ‘there are 23 community schools and 28 private schools in the municipality. All of these schools have decided to operate from January 28, following health safety standards’. The municipality office will provide sanitizer to the schools whereas, the students have to wear masks at their own expense. 

Earlier in October, the municipality had resumed school services but, after a student tested positive for Covid virus, the schools were again closed. So far, 91 cases have been recorded in the district.
