Hongshi-Shivam donates oxygen concentrators worth Rs 20 million

Kathmandu, May 13. On Wednesday, Hongshi Shivam Cement Private Limited in coordination with Confederation of Nepalese Industries, donated 200 oxygen concentrators worth two-crore Nepali rupees.

The China-Nepal joint venture company imported the concentrators from China. The shipment was carried by a chartered flight of Nepal Airlines that landed in Kathmandu on Tuesday. 

According to sources, Nepal’s largest cement factory provided 173 concentrators to the Ministry of Health and Population, whereas, 27 units were delivered to the Nepali embassy in China.

An OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR is an electric device that filters out nitrogen from the ambient air while producing an oxygen-rich gas stream that is supplied to the patient through nasal tubes and masks. These electric units are portable alternatives to heavy cylinders. They can provide 5-10 liters of oxygen per minute and also do not require refilling.
