NRNA USA is sending medical supplies worth 4 crore on a US military aircraft

Washington, August 28. The non-resident Nepali community living in the United States, have sent 4 tons of health and medical supplies to the Government of Nepal.

Spokesperson of the Non-Resident Nepali Association(NRNA USA), Toya Dahal told DCNepal that the goods items worth 3.6 lakh US dollars (4.8 crore Nepali rupees) were purchased with the help of NRNA members and various organizations based in the United States.

Dahal also said that the Treasurer of NRNA USA Rajiv Shrestha coordinated with the US Military in Utah to transport the shipment to Kathmandu. Major General William K. Weissinger made the arrangements on behalf of the US military. 

On Friday afternoon, a US Air Force Aircraft carrying the supplies, took off from Utah Airport. The shipment is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday. 

Dahal further stated that a brief ceremony will be held in Kathmandu during which NRNA president Budhi Subedi will hand over the supplies to the Nepali government.

Treasurer Shrestha, through the official social media handle, thanked the US Government, Governor and people of Utah, and Nepali diplomats for their support in the humanitarian project.

He also expressed gratitude to Direct Relief, Seva International, Gurung Samaj of Los Angeles, Sikh Gurdwara Sanhoje and NRNA chapters for their massive contribution to the supplies.
