Ukrainian president holds press conference behind sandbags

Kathmandu, March 5. Ukrainian President Zelensky has briefed media officials in his office building on Friday. He has held the first press conference since the Russian invasion began, guarded by sandbags.

He spoke openly about his fear of dying and induced pride in Ukrainian people. He also asked for a no-fly zone to be imposed against Russia. He has asked for military assistance if the West will not impose a no-fly zone.

He also asked for military support from President Emmanuel Macron of France and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany.

He also spoke that he is proud how Ukrainians have stood against the Russians.

Mykhailo Podolyak, Zelenskyy’s negotiator at the talks said that they are ready to speak on all topics.

Thursday’s negotiation ended with an agreement on cease-fire corridors for civilians to escape but no progress on a settlement. Zelensky further revealed that there were some points that could be compromised and some that could not.
