Japan’s former princess now works as an unpaid volunteer at a museum in New York

Kathmandu, April 13. Japan’s former princess Mako Komuro has found a new job in New York after giving up her title to marry her husband Kei Komoro.
As the Japanese law requires a royal to give up the title to marry a commoner, Mako gave up her title last year. Additionally, she also turned down a $1.3 million payout from the Japanese government. The amount is paid to women who lose their royal status after they marry.
Mako is reportedly working as an unpaid volunteer at Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) in New York. Further, she is responsible for hanging scroll paintings at the museum for exhibition.
Kei, her husband works as a lawyer in New York. They live in an apartment in Manhattan.
