Swiss Couple Contributes Rs. 1.5 Million to School
Kaski, July 22 : A generous contribution of Rs. 1.5 million has been received from a Swiss couple to support landslide prevention efforts at Nispaksha Secondary School in Machhapuchchhe rural municipality-5.
Martin Singer and Kussi from Switzerland extended their assistance after the school faced perilous conditions due to landslides triggered by incessant rains in June of the previous year.
During a special event on Friday, Eric, a Swiss citizen, handed over the cheque of Rs. 1.5 million to the school’s Principal, Durga Bahadur Rawat. The philanthropic Swiss business couple had visited the school alongside Eric in May last year.
To enhance the efforts, the provincial government had allocated a budget of Rs. 500,000 in the previous fiscal year for securing the school from future landslides. The overall projected cost for the preventive work is estimated to be Rs. 3.5 million.
