Fuel Prices Surge in Nepal Due to International Market Trends
Kathmandu, Jan 31: In response to the rising prices of petroleum products in the international market, Nepal Oil Corporation has decided to adjust fuel prices domestically. Effective from midnight on Thursday, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 4, while diesel and kerosene prices have seen a Rs 2 hike. Additionally, the cost of cooking gas has surged by Rs 15 per cylinder.
The adjustment follows the receipt of a new price list from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on the 31st of the month, prompting the Nepal Oil Corporation to revise local fuel prices accordingly.
As per the updated price list, the maximum price for petrol per liter is set at Rs 170, while diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs 158 per liter. Furthermore, the cost of an LPG gas cylinder has reached Rs 1910. These adjustments reflect the ongoing fluctuations in the global oil market, impacting fuel prices both internationally and within Nepal.
