Kathmandu, Sept 17: Sigrid Kaag, a senior United Nations official in Gaza, has criticized the international community for failing to help the innocent people there. Speaking to the BBC, he said the situation in Gaza is terrible, with basic needs not being met.
Kaag, who was appointed nine months ago, is responsible for overseeing aid and reconstruction in Gaza. He described his upcoming report to the United Nations as “very disappointing.”
He called the situation a “disaster” and said there is little hope for improvement. Kaag also mentioned that Gaza is one of the most dangerous places to work and that without a ceasefire or release of hostages, it will be difficult to see any progress.
