Nepal’s Foreign Exchange Reserves Reach NPR 21.52 Trillion

Kathmandu, Oct 15: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has reported that the country’s foreign exchange reserves have reached NPR 21.52 trillion.

The NRB’s report, released on Tuesday, shows that the reserves grew by NPR 1.11 trillion in the past two months, marking a 5.5% increase since June 2024. As of June, the reserves stood at NPR 20.41 trillion.

Of the total reserves, NPR 19.28 trillion is held by the central bank, reflecting a 4.4% increase from NPR 18.48 trillion in June 2081.

The NRB highlighted that the current reserves are sufficient to cover 16.8 months of goods imports and 13.7 months of combined goods and services imports, based on import data for the first two months of the fiscal year 2081/82.
