Australia Secures Champions Trophy Semifinal Spot Amid Rain Cancellation

Kathmandu, March 1: Australia has reached the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy in Group B. The team earned four points from three games after their match against Afghanistan was canceled due to rain.
In their previous outing, Australia began chasing Afghanistan’s target of 274 runs and managed to score 109 runs for the loss of one wicket in 12.5 overs before the match was called off. In Group B, South Africa currently has three points from two games, while Afghanistan has three points from three matches. The second semifinal spot from the group will be decided after Saturday’s match between South Africa and England.
England is now out of the semi-finals, and one of South Africa or Afghanistan will join Australia in the next round. South Africa’s strong run rate gives them a good chance of progressing, even if they suffer a loss to England.
