US-Iran Nuclear Deal Talks Advance to Next Stage with Omani Mediation

Kathmandu, April 20: The United States and Iran have agreed to move forward with their nuclear deal negotiations, according to a spokesperson from the Omani Foreign Ministry.
The second round of talks between US and Iranian delegations took place in Rome on Saturday, facilitated by Omani Foreign Minister Hammad al-Busaidi.
Key figures in the dialogue included Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff. Both sides reportedly agreed to take the negotiations to the next phase, signaling potential progress after long-standing tensions.
Minister Araghchi described the discussions as “constructive and progressive,” noting that they had achieved a good understanding on several principles and objectives.
The continuation of these talks could mark a step forward in de-escalating tensions and potentially reviving elements of the nuclear agreement, with Oman playing a key role in mediating between the two nations.
