Nepali Congress slams government for stepping aback on COVID-19 treatment

Kathmandu. The main opposition party, Nepali Congress has slammed the government for not taking responsibility for the treatment of coronavirus patients. Nepali Congress Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma, through a press release has stated that through the legal system as well, the government cannot give up upon its responsibility.

The press release raised a concern on the uncertainty of COVID hospitals, short-comings in social isolations, shortage of ventilators, black-marketing of Remdesivir, unmanaged quarantines and the delay in the management of the corpses. It highlighted that these drawbacks have set “a big question mark upon the government’s intellectual and physical existence.”

Nepali Congress encouraged that the Members of Parliament Development Fund be scraped, and the Dashain allowances to be cut off, in order to save the lives of the citizens. They have also urged the government to provide free testing, and facilitate the treatment of the individuals who have contracted the contagion.
