Cases filed against three industries in Siraha, market monitoring intensified
Lahan, December 16 : The Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Rajbiraj has filed cases against three industries in Siraha for selling substandard goods.
Cases have been filed against KB & Sons Nepal in Lahan Municipality-3, Mahavir Food Products in Chohar of Siraha, and Star Chips industries in Lahan Municipality-3 after it was found that substandard and low-quality goods were sold during the monitoring. The cases have been filed against all three industries under the Food Act, 2023 B.S at the District Administration Office. Siraha, said Suresh Kumar Singh, Chief of the Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Rajbiraj.
Meanwhile, joint monitoring of the food industry and shops has been started in Siraha following the complaints of the black market in the market. The monitoring of food and sweet shops in the major markets of Siraha has been started to the black market. Buying and selling consumer goods at affordable prices and allowing consumers to consume simply and easily.
Chief Singh informed that a large number of expired goods were recovered and destroyed during the monitoring conducted in the markets of Siraha, Lahan, Mirchaiya, and Golbazar on the initiation of Food Technology and Quality Control Office Rajbiraj. He said that the monitoring was focused on the bill of bulk items purchased by the shop, price list for sale, expired items, health care system adopted to prevent corona infection, soap, and water, sanitizer, and gloves.
During the shop monitoring, the businessmen were given the first-time warning to keep the price lists visible to the consumers, to destroy the expired food items, and to make proper management.
