Brexit process completes with the start of new year
Kathmandu, January 2. United Kingdom(UK) has formally made an exit from the European Union (EU) since the start of the new year 2021. According to BBC, the new system has been implemented in the UK since the beginning of the new year.
EU rules will no longer apply to the people living in UK. Similarly, new rules related to travel, security trade, migrants and other issues have been implemented.
Expressing happiness over the completion of the Brexit process, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that UK was now independent and had the potential to do even better. He urged the country’s ministers to be vigilant as the new rules could cause problems for a few days or weeks. He also said that British companies should work in accordance with the changed rules.
In 2016, the British people decided to leave the EU through a referendum. Exactly three and a half years later, Britain has formally seceded from the 27-member union, both politically and economically.
