China- US Rivalry reaches new heights in Taiwan
Tensions between US and China has reached a new turn as US officials held a meeting with its Taiwanese counterpart on security issues on Saturday. Chinese fighter air force planes were seen flying in the Taiwanese sky during the meeting.
The Taiwanese defense ministry reported that 19 Chinese aircrafts had entered Taiwan, which included two H-6 bombers, twelve J-16 fighters, two J-10 fighters, two J-11 fighters and one Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft. According to New York Times, China has condemned the security alliance between Taiwan and US, and has expressly warned the nations against it. In a press conference Ren Guoqiang, a representative from the Chinese defense ministry claimed that “those who play with fire will get burnt”. According to another report, it is said that Chinese fighter jets have been seen before as well, however, it was seen in such a large number for the first time.
