IPL betters arrested from Morang

Morang. Police have arrested three on Monday for running an online betting racket in Biratnagar.

The accused are Saryajit Shah alias Munna (38) and Baijanath Shah (38) of Bhattimod, Biratnagar-15 and Jagadish Shah (42) of Rani, Biratnagar -17. They were arranging bettings in the ongoing Indian Premie League ( IPL) cricket matches being held in UAE.

Acting on a tip off, Morang Police personnel had found Satyajit organizing the online betting through his cellphone as to which team would win or loose the match. The remaining others were arrested later.

A laptop, 3 mobile phones, a motorbike and Rs 60,000 in cash have been seized from their possession

Morang police has notified that they were investigating further to file case under gambling and betting law.
