Laghman, Afghanistan. A suicide attacker ambushed the Governor of Laghman, Rahmatullah Yarmal’s convoy on Monday, killing eight and injuring over 30.
According to ANI, a spokesman for the provincial governor, Assadullah Dawlatzai, said here on Monday that the Governor survived the attack, though slightly injured. No radical group operating in the country has taken responsibility for the attack so far, stated the report.
The Afghan government and the Taliban rebels agreed to meet for talks in Doha, Qatar. After 22 days of the opening ceremony, they have not started the dialogues formally yet. The Taliban have been continuing with their violence in the meantime.
