Kathmandu. Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chair KP Sharma Oli and party Executive Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have summoned Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and other NCP party officials  of Karnali Province to Kathmandu. The conflicting parties have been directed to come to Kathmandu as per the decision made by the  chair duo on Tuesday,

The step has been taken to resolve the present crisis created by the vote of no confidence registered at the Karnali Provincial Assembly by the party lawmakers against their own government.

NCP deputy parliamentary party leader Subash Nembang confirmed that a letter signed by both chairs has been dispatched to Karnali. Along with Chief Minister Shahi, NCP Karnali chair Gorakh Bahadur Bogati, secretary Maya Prasad Sharma, Karnali Province co-incharge Yama Lal Kandel are among the party officials instructed to reach Kathmandu by Thursday.

According to source, all members involved in the no confidence motion have been called for. 18 MPs, 15 from former United Marxist and Leninist Party (UML) and three from former Maoist party, had put filed the motion of no confidence under the leadership of party leader Kandel. However, with seven MPs of the Madhav Nepal faction backing off from the proposal on Tuesday, the motion of no confidence is set to fail. Now that the center has intervened, it is likely to be dismissed.
