NCP Karnali issue: must stick to party decision, PM Oli says

Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has discussed with the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders of Karnali Province today. PM Oli had invited the leaders to solve the political crisis created by the vote of no confidence against Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of the NCP led provincial government by their own MPs.

Yam Lal Kandel, leader of the group that had registered  the motion of no confidence, informed that Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel was present during the prime minister’s conversation with the leaders of Karnali. He further told, “There was a group discussion. CM Shahi presented his views and so did I. The dispute has not been settled yet.”

According to another participating leader, during the discussion PM Oli underscored that a conclusion would be reached after a discussion of the two chair and all should follow the decision.

It is learned, however, that party Executive Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ did not attend the meeting at Baluwatar though he was invited for the discussion. Similarly, Karnali Province in-charge Janardan Sharma, who is believed to side with Prachanda also avoided the meeting. Earlier, Prachanda had hold separate discussions with the two disputing leaders.

Chief Minister of Karnali Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, NCP Karnali co-in charge Yam Lal Kandel, NCP Province Committtee chair Gorakh Bogati and secretary Maya Prasad Sharma among others were at Baluwatar to discuss on the issue with PM Oli.
