A rare coincidence: Record set by Kagiso Rabada in the IPL
Kathmandu. Delhi Capitals bowler Kagiso Rabada has set a record in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). On Saturday, he became the fastest player in IPL history to take 50 wickets. He set the record by dismissing Chennai Super Kings batsman Faf du Plessis.
Rabada took his 50th wicket while playing his 27th game in the league. Earlier, West Indies spinner Sunil Philip Narine had the record of taking the fastest 50 wickets in the IPL. Narine, who is currently playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, had taken 50 wickets in 32 IPL matches.
While Rabada was making a record today, it became a rare coincidence in his record. He dismissed his own national team captain as he crossed the 50-wicket mark. He is currently South Africa’s most reliable pace bowler where Faf du Plessis is the captain of their national team.
