Kathmandu. Three times winners of Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings, are in danger of not qualifying to the playoffs for the first time in history. In the ongoing season of Indian Premier League(IPL), Chennai Super Kings are at the bottom after winning only 3 of 10 matches. Even if they win all the remaining scheduled matches, they will have only 14 points in their basket. Delhi Capitals have already earned 14 points and are at the top after playing 9 matches.

In the 13 years of IPL history, Chennai Super Kings have played 11 seasons and have always reached the playoffs. However, after losing yesterday’s match against Rajasthan Royals, Chennai’s chances of reaching the playoffs have reached a critical juncture.

During the presentation after suffering their seventh defeat, the skipper of the team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni said “You don’t want to chop and change. Insecurity is something you don’t want to prevail in the dressing room. Fair enough, this season we weren’t really there.”

For Dhoni, who recently became the first player to play 200 matches in IPL, this may be the second time of not reaching playoffs. Earlier, in 2016, he could not enter the playoffs when was with the Rising Pune Supergiant.
