Mumbai. 61-year-old Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, on the occasion of his kids’ birthday on Wednesday, confirmed that he is now free from cancer.  He also said that the last few weeks had been a very difficult time for him and his family.

Earlier in August, Sanjay Dutt had announced of having  been diagnosed with lung cancer. Then after, he was under treatment for the past two months at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

Though he did not reveal the stage of his cancer, his fans and media assumed that his cancer was in stage 3 or 4. After Dutt’s s announcement on Wednesday, people found it hard to believe in Dutt’s recovery. Some social media trolls also indicated it to be a trick to promote his latest movie “Sadak 2”.

Dutt had been receiving treatment under oncologist Dr Sewanti Limaye.   “Sanju never said what stage of cancer he was in. So all those who speculated that it was Stage 3 and Stage 4 can go take a walk with their theories. Now they are using the same theories to wonder how he can get well,” says a source.

According to Dutt’s medical report, he is not fit enough to work in action scenes. There shall also be some major changes in the scenes of his upcoming films, KGF-2 and Prithviraj.

Dutt’s mother Nargis Dutt, who was one of the greatest actors of classical Indian Cinema in the mid 20th century had also passed away after complications from pancreatic cancer.
