Amitabh Bachchan finds himself embroiled in a controversy
Mumbai. 78-year old Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has entered into a controversy after a question asked in his show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” was accused of being coded with communist in teaching kids to indulge in a cultural war.
On Thursday’s special “Karmaveer” episode, Amitabh Bachchan had asked the following question which created the issue:
On 25 December 1927, Dr B.R. Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture?
The four options given were:
Option A: Vishnu Purana
Option B: Bhagavad Gita
Option C: Rigveda
Option D: Manusmriti

Bachchan has been criticized on social media for giving only Hindu scriptures as the alternatives to the answer. The question has been raised as to whether Amitabh could have replaced the Bhagwad Gita and the Rig Veda with the Bible and the Koran.
