Bharti Singh may be jailed for up to 10 years
Kathmandu. One of Indian television’s biggest comedians, Bharti Singh, and her husband are being produced before the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Court today.
The Indian Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had discovered 86.5 grams of cannabis from Singh’s house during a raid on Saturday morning. Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were taken into custody for further investigation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During the questioning, the couple accepted consuming cannabis. Though the quantity seized from their house wasn’t commercial, they can be imprisoned for up to 10 years.
After the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput in June, NCB has already questioned several Indian celebrities on the basis of WhatsApp chats involving drugs.
