India clinches T20 series against Australia with two wins
Kathmandu. India defeated host Australia in the second T20 in a sensational game in Sydney on Sunday. India scored the 195 runs needed with last two balls to spare.
With the second win, the guests have pocketed the three-match series, though badly whipped in the ODIs by Australia.
Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan scored the highest 52 runs for the guest team. Hardik Pandya followed his score with 42 runs and Captain Virat Kohli made a respectable 40.
Australian bowlers Adam Zampa, Mitchell Swepson, Daniel Sams and Andrew Tye were able to get a wicket each.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Australia had been offered to bat and had scored 194 runs in 20 overs losing five wickets.
Regular Australian skipper Aaron Finch, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were absent in the match today.
Australian skipper Matthew Wade scored the highest 68 runs, Steve smith 46 and Moises Henriques 25, Glen Maxwell 22 and Marcus Stanus scored 16 not out.
T Natarajan of India clinched two wickets while Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal grasped one each.
The third and final T20 match of the series will be played on Tuesday.
