K-pop band BTS named Time Magazine’s ‘Entertainer of the Year’

Kathmandu. Time Magazine has named famous K-pop band BTS as the ‘Entertainer of the Year 2020’. The seven-member South Korean boy band has become a global phenomenon through their songs such as ‘Life Goes On’ and ‘Dynamite.’

The magazine highlighted the massive presence of the band even during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting their support to global causes like Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ and mental health issues. The band is also one of the first K-pop band to deliver a speech in the United Nations General Assembly.

One of the members of BTS, Suga, told Time, “There are times when I’m still taken aback by all the unimaginable things that are happening. But I ask myself, Who’s going to do this, if not us?”

Time Magazine has also jointly named Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, president and vice-president-elect of the US, person of the year 2020.
