Kalin resigns as head coach of Nepali national football team

Kathmandu. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has approved the resignation of head coach of the national football team, Johan Kalin.

Kalin had returned to Sweden on March 24 after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and  had not been able to return Nepal after that.  As informed to by ANFA, Kalin sent his resignation, with effect from October 17, from Sweden.

As per ANFA spokesman Kiran Rai, Balgopal Maharjan, who had been coaching the national team during Kalin’s absence, has been appointed the pro-tem head coach. The Nepali team had played the friendly matches against Bangladesh recently under Maharjan’s guidance.

National News Agency (RSS)  mentions that Kalin from Sweden was appointed the head coach of the Nepali football team on March 1, 2019 and the national team played 11 matches during his term.
