‘Girls’ Ashram’ being built at Devghat
Chitwan, December 16: A girls’ ashram (hostel) is going to be built at Devghat Dham. The ashram, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 crores, will have 32 rooms.
The Bharatpur Municipal Corporation has allocated Rs.2 million from Bagmati Pradesh and Rs. 300,000 from the ward office for the construction of the building this year.
General Secretary of the Foundation Ramesh Prasad Khanal said that the goal is to operate Kanya Gurukulam in the building. According to him, there is a plan to provide residential Gurukul education to 108 people. “The building will help impart in imparting education on Vedas. Bhagadavad Gita, scriptures and rituals,” he added.
At present, 32 people have been availed of accommodation at the Ramjanaki Balika Ashram. Chairperson of the ashram Savitri Tandon said that 39 girls have been rehabilitated after making searches for their families. More than 150 people have been listed to help provide daily meals in the ashram. Tandon said that Rs 1.5 lakh is spent monthly for the operation of the ashram. Girls from 21 districts are sheltered in the ashram. RSS
