Kathmandu, Jan 18 : The new strain of novel coronavirus has been confirmed in three people. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population(MoHP) had informed the UK new strain of COVID-19 has been confirmed in three people in Nepal the test carried out at Hong Kong-based laboratory by issuing a press statement.
A few days ago, six people come from UK were tested positive for COVID-19 and their swab samples was sent to a laboratory at Hong Kong with the help of World Health Organization (WHO) to verify the new strain of virus.
However, out of three infected people, 2 have been recovered so far from the UK new strain of COVID-19. Another is still infected, is asymptomatic, the ministry said.
