Kathmandu, January 20. In the second video conference held with Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the crew of political web series “Tandav” have decided to remove the controversial scenes from the show.

The new Hindi web series “Tandav” that was launched on Friday was stuck in a controversy of allegedly portraying Hindu gods in a ridiculous and dark image.

Tandav is created by screenwriter-director Ali Abbas Zafar, who is previously recognized for his blockbuster films, Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). The nine-episode show features Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia,  Zeeshan Ayyub, Sunil Grover and others.

On Sunday night, an FIR was filed against Ali Abbas Zafar and writer Gaurav Solanki at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow. On Tuesday, another FIR was lodged at the Rabupura police station for showing Uttar Pradesh Police in a bad light. Several Indian politicians have also filed police complaints against the makers. After hearing a flood of complaints, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting orders an explanation from Amazon Prime Video on the issue.

According to IMDB, “Tandav” is a story that happens in the capital city New Delhi of the world’s largest democracy where it takes you inside the closed, chaotic doors of power and manipulation and uncovers the darkest lanes of Indian politics. The social media is now floating on the mixed reviews by the earliest viewers.
