Medicinal “Gurjo” saplings planted along the Bagmati river bank

Kathmandu, June 26. “High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization” has planted 500 saplings of Tinospora cordifolia (Gurjo) on the banks of the Bagmati river.

The saplings donated by Gurjo campaigner Kamal Bahadur Rajlawat were planted in the area ranging from Tinkune to Ganesh temple.

Gurjo Shrub is a medicinal plant species used to cure various health disorders. It gained immense popularity in Nepal, during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Campaigner Rajlawat told RSS that since the first pandemic, more than 1.5 lakhs saplings of the plant have been distributed free of cost all around the country. Rajlawat dreams of seeing every Nepali house with at least one Gurjo plant.
