Kathmandu, April 15. The Transport Ministry of the Bagmati Province on Thursday announced an increase in the fare of taxi and public transport services.
As per the new guidelines, passengers traveling inside the Kathmandu valley on public transport must pay a minimum of Rs 20 to travel five kilometers of distance.
The Ministry also increased the fares for taxi services within the valley. The minimum taxi fare has been set to Rs 50.
If a passenger uses night taxi services (operating between 9:00 pm to 4:00 am), S/he will have to pay Rs 13 for every 200 meters of travel.
