Anthony Albanese sworn in as Australia’s prime minister

Kathmandu, May 23. Anthony Albanese, Australia’s Labor Party leader was sworn in to become Australia’s 31st Prime Minister. Albanese and his team visited the Government House in Canberra on Monday, where he was sworn in by Governor General David Hurley.

Albanese’s Labor Party defeated Scott Morrison and his coalition in the elections. Morrison’s government was in power for nearly nine years.

Further, he fast tracked his swearing in ceremony to fly to Japan for participating in the Quad Summit.

Moreover, Richard Marles, who was sworn in as the Minister for Employment and Deputy Prime Minister will be taking over the post until Albanese’s return from the summit.
